Biographical Note:
Sandy Thatcher Powell is an award-winning high school science teacher. She loves to read. Her favorite stories are fantasy and science fiction. She also likes to sew, knit, crochet, and craft. She lives in Idaho with her family.
She and her husband Roy are the parents of eight children, two daughters and six sons. They are enjoying the new adventure of being grandparents.
Sandy has taught science and math in middle school, junior high, and high school as well as online. She received the Governor’s Industry Award for Notable Teaching in STEM (GIANTS) and is an Idaho state finalist for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching. She earned an Associate of Science in Secondary Education from Snow College in Ephraim, Utah. Her Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education with an emphasis in Physical Science was earned at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. She also earned a Master of Science in Educational Technology from Boise State University in Boise, Idaho.
